Red Flag Warning
FROM EMWPA
The National Weather Service (NWS) announced at 7:21 this morning that Monday's weather will reach red flag conditions. There is a strong chance that Tuesday will also have red flag danger levels.
Remember, today (Sunday) and tomorrow have been predicted as severe weather days, and Tuesday may be as well. This is the first multi-day event of the 2024 wildfire season. Be aware, be prepared!
The critical information for Monday is the following: red flag conditions will exist on Monday from 10 am until 10 pm; winds will be from the west at 25 - 35 mph, with gusting to 55 mph; relative humidity will drop to between 7 - 20 %; and the temperatures will be well above average for this day in May. It goes without saying that they recommend no outdoor burning. And as we always say, the hours before and after the official red flag times can be dangerous as well, so tell your neighbors that Sunday is another watch out day!
