Bears
There have been a large number of bear sightings this year, not only in Paa-Ko, but also in other East Mountain Communities and even in Albuquerque neighborhoods. They are looking for any and all kinds of food. Don't make your house an easy mark - one that the bears want to continually to visit - they are getting too used to humans and their spaces.
- If possible, keep trash bins in the garage until trash day.
- Wait until the morning of trash pickup day to take the bins to street.
- Take bird and hummingbird feeders in every night.
- Don't feed squirrels, rabbits etc.
- Keep all pet food inside.
Remember - the old familiar saying - A FED BEAR IS A DEAD BEAR.
