Dogs

All about dogs — again! A variety of complaints about dogs came in this week, so they’re are all piled together here.  Repetition over and over……

Please be considerate of your neighbors and other Paa-Ko residents.
Keep your dogs on a leash
Pick up your dogs’ poop
Keep your dog contained in an enclosed yard
Please control constantly barking dogs, especially into the night.

These are common sense things for pet owners in neighborhoods - and some are required in the county and in Paa-Ko.

Incident Last Sunday

FROM DAVID GREENBERG - LEAG COMMITTEE

Last Sunday afternoon (the 11th), around 3:30 pm, a Silver Blue Toyota Corolla with Texas plates number unknown, driven by a woman in dark glasses and a ponytail, drove into a circular driveway on Paako Drive with its windows open and music blaring.  The driver stayed long enough in the driveway for the owner of the property to go outside and investigate.  The driver threw something out the window and sped away.  The owner found a note that the driver had thrown out the window.  While the owner was reading the note, the car went out to the street and came back into the driveway, nearly hitting the owner. The sheriff was notified.

The note, in blue marker, said, “To Whomever is running this Lille (sic) Boat and Pony Show! I’m Govt! I’ve got Military Back-up! Leave me the Hell Alone! "
This was followed by a smiley face with an angel halo on top.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but this could have been a very serious situation.

If anyone recognizes this car or has had a similar experience, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 911, and Anthony, our security guard (505) 803-3075 if it's during his working hours.

Stool Ain't Cool

Stool ain't cool all over the roads. Paa'Ko dogs are dropping "mother-loads".
Pile upon pile of stinky, squishy poop --  thanks to those of you too lazy to scoop.
Step after step, it's hard to ignore, all the crap that's become an outdoor eyesore.
Even the wildlife all know it's not proper, to squat on the shoulder and leave a big "dropper".
To all who keep trying to justify why, to them, the set rules just never apply --
you're not more special than the next one along, and should you so think, then you've got it all wrong.
Everyone likes to enjoy their beautiful yards, without looking out to see lots of dog poop "shards".
So, think of your neighbors, and not just you, when you're walking your dog, please pick up its poo!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE -it's no laughing matter.  A resident, with a corner lot (who asked that a notice be put in newsletter), just this week alone, picked up over 130 individual piles of dog poop along the two sides of street bordering his property.

Thought I'd share some of the more interesting reasons that have been told to me over the years for not picking up poop:
“I’m grandfathered in because I’ve lived here since the beginning when you didn’t have to do that”.
"All the wild animals poop outside and no one picks their poop up”.
"I have a bad hip, so I can't bend over".
"I left my poop bags in my purse".
"My dog has diarrhea and I didn't have time to grab my bags".
"I have a little dog, so his poop's small".

Please be a responsible pet owner!   :-)

Poop

This is my end of the year plea for dog owners to be responsible for picking up their dogs’ poop.  The poop is piling up on the streets of Paa-Ko and residents are complaining to me.  Some residents are going the extra mile on their walks and picking up other peoples dogs poop, and some are also picking up poop along the shoulder of the road in front of their properties.  Some of these people don’t even have dogs.  Not really fair to these kind souls.  Thank you to all who go that extra mile to clean up after others lack of responsibility.

I know ‘tis the season to believe in many things like Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Elf-on-the-Shelf, but the Poop Fairy isn’t on that list.

CC&R's for Household Pets

Melissa Chavez, our HOA Community Association Manager at Associa Canyon Gate Management, has sent the paragraph from the CC&R's related to barking and loose dogs.  Please be mindful of neighbors if your dog is one of those who barks incessantly.  Also, dogs are not allowed to run loose and must be contained within a fenced yard.

The loose Labradoodles this week having been running around Canyon Ridge every day - coming towards cars, barking and growling at walkers and joggers to the point of some people being afraid.  The owners apparently live on Canyon Ridge.  Please call Animal Control at 505-314-0280 if you see the dogs out again.

Tarantulas

Tarantulas have been spotted around Paa-Ko.  Photo attached (go to READ MORE then to DOCUMENTS).

These are good critters - not the horror film variety.  Don't kill them - let them cross the road to get to the other side. :)
